"Sie" by Karin Kraemer
SHE is different. SHE lives in a stylish world where personality is everything - and yet the others all seem to look the same. SHE is headstrong and has a hard time in this world of lookalikes. SHE gets on people's nerves. Although SHE doesn't speak a single word, SHE wants to be heard. SHE is determined to find her way and her place. Karin Kraemer has observed HER and the others: In the city, in the restaurant, on the street, in the cinema, in the supermarket, at home and has now collected her observations in a sensitive and multi-layered portrait of SHE in 6 booklets. The large-format illustrated stories give us a glimpse of what we normally only see out of the corner of our eye and rather reluctantly. A closer look reveals a complex world of emotions. The stories are sad, helpless, humorous and endless. Somehow SHE looks familiar.
Karin Kraemer, born in Aachen in 1982, lives and works as an illustrator and draughtswoman in Hamburg. She regularly participates in exhibitions and publications in Germany and abroad.
